Mechanical Workshop

The mechanical workshop is specialised in the preparation of test samples required for various testing procedures. Specific sample geometries are needed for examinations and tests to measure different material properties. The manufacturing of test samples is also available to our customers for external investigations. From rough pre-cut samples from castings to polished fatigue samples the full range of the machining according to international standards or customer specifications is offered.

The emphasis during machining of test samples is on repeatability, high accuracy and high precision, as well as paying attention to the surface roughness and avoiding residual stresses.

The geometrical precision of the manufactured samples is documented by optical measurement of samples. Surface quality is checked by stereo macroscope or quantified by surface roughness tester.

Furthermore, special measuring equipment and mould inserts are manufactured for our pilot foundry.
