Metallography

Each material has its own characteristic microstructure, made visible by microscopy. Detection of inhomogeneities or non-uniform
microstructures offers information on the state of the material, its processing and required further treatment as well as the expected behaviour of the material.The metallographic laboratory is a central facility for quality assessments, material investigations, alloy developments and failure analysis.
